Whirlwind.........

We had a whirlwind of a weekend!! Peter and I spent Thursday through Sunday, really Saturday at midnight, apart. Boo! Peter attended a conference in North Carolina with some of the pastor's from church, and I travelled to San Antonio with Jourdan and Kristen to lead worship at a conference called Next Step. Little did I know I would run into a few people from my past! :) They put us up in the CUTEST little bed and breakfast in downtown Boerne! We loved it!! Here are a few pics from our trip. Jourdan's room had a "Fiesta" theme. It was way over the top, but cute at the same time. Kristen and I shared a room with an Asian theme! Our bed was so comfortable! :)

I don't really have much else to say. I'm sad it's not cool yet. I don't care, I'm still making Chicken Tortilla Soup tonight. :)
Congrats to Laura and Matthew on a beautiful baby girl!!!!!!

I cried...

I cried my way out of a speeding ticket today. Warning only.
I was going 27 in a 20 and the LIGHTS WERE NOT BLINKING! That was my defense. School was not out. So, I cried out of frustration, and only got a warning. Don't worry, my manipulation hasn't worked everytime. I PROMISE I didn't create these tears. They just came!!!

TAG! You ARE IT!

The Game of Tag about your MAN:

1. Who is your man? Peter Euguene

23. Who kissed who first? Ummmmmm, me on accident. But, real kiss, that would be Peter. He called me Delilah at the time. hahaah

Happy Birthday Peter!

28 REASONS WHY I LOVE P.E.A.

1. He has such a heart for people and serving others.
2. He wakes up every morning and spends time in the word praying.(He probably prayed for you.)
3. He LOVES to build things, or really to work with his hands and get dirty! That's come in really handy and will be VERY handy in the next months to come. (That's a story for later.)
4. He serves whole-heartedly in The Village Recovery ministry and is very passionate about mentoring other men.
5. He cooks dinner for me now since I work until 7. He's about ready for me to just go ahead and quit. YEA RIGHT!
6. He loves dogs as much as I do. (Well, maybe not AS MUCH as I do.)
7. He is VERY clean. He has spurred me on to be a clean person. He taught me how to fold shirts and towels, and EVEN how to make the bed every morning!
8. He constantly makes me laugh.
9. He holds my hand in public. (I say this because he is not a touchy/feely person. But some how, since marrying me, things have changed.)
10. He is H.O.T.
11. He does the dishes after I cook. :)
12. He is Dave Ramsey Junior. This is important because he effectively manages our money and I don't have to worry about anything ever.
13. He looks really great in Spandex. (See a few previous posts ago.)
14. He's a darn good griller!!!
15. He has "evened" me out since marrying me.
16. He loves the idea of a big family. (1 at a time here people!) :)
17. He folds the laundry when I leave it in the dryer on accident. ;)
18. He loves community and friends as much as I do making it hard for us to have alone time. :)
19. He's precious to me in so many ways.
20. He's a fabulous dresser. (Even if he wants to wear his nike, black and red and gray, running shoes with every outfit.
21. He meets me for lunch every Tuesday. :)
22. He enjoys my cooking. (I actually cooked for him twice this weekend!!)
23. He gives me a shopping budget each month. :) MAN I'm selfish! This is supposed to be about Peter! :)
24. He has some AMAZING curly locks. :)
25. He has a beautiful singing voice and embraces music as much as me!
26. He is physically fit and very fast! (this makes it hard for me to EVER run with him.) But, he does. He jogs right along side of his heavy-breathing-SLOW-running Wife. :) He used to be called "White Lightning."
27. He is an UNBELIEVABLE husband. I couldn't ask for a more encouraging man of God!
28. He is my husband and I love him with all of my heart.

The ENd.

Happy Birthday my sweet.

A New Day, A New Blog

Sorry, I don't have pictures again. Scratch that, I do have pictures, but I keep forgetting to bring my camera cord up to work. Sorry Sorry. But, I do have a new blog background! At least it's something new to look at.

We had a great weekend in Wichita Falls. I will post pictures on Monday, I PROMISE. I had lots of baby holding time with Layla Grayce. She is beautiful and is already smiling at 2 months. Precious. There are no other words.

We celebrate 2 birthdays this weekend. Sweet Peter's and Natasha Lee's. :)
I'm going to get up early in the morning and cook him some breakfast casserole and some zuchinni bread....pray I wake up since it is Saturday. His actual birthday is on Monday, but he leaves VERY early. I'm barely conscious when he leaves......
Then we will finally get to spend the day together! Praise the Lord.

Last night, Peter gave his re-written testimony at The Village Recovery. The last time he read it was a year and half ago. There have been updates of the Lord's hand on his life. I teared up listening to the mighty power of Jesus in his life! He is such and amazing man. Monday I will post more on him as a tribute for his birthday. Stay tuned.

I hope everyone has a grand weekend. :)

Alright....

I've become a TERRIBLE blogger and PICTURE TAKER the last few months!

My camera battery has been down, and I couldn't find my charger until about 15 minutes before I had to be at Natalie and Josh's wedding. Of course I took it with me and plugged it in at the church in time for all the pics to start! Stupid me...left it in there until AFTER the reception! I'm sure I can get some pics from the other girls.

Blogging. I just really don't like to write a blog without pics! It's not NEAR as fun!! So, I just read everyone else's and neglect mine on purpose.

Things have been really busy since the last time I posted. I've had lunch with some really fun girls! Actually, if you go to the poefam on the right you can see some pics of lunch with Sarah and Brittney and Quinn. She even sent me the pics, but I'm not going to post them. Peter and I went to Houston a few weekends ago to celebrate Gammur and Pop-Pop's 60th wedding anniversary! It was so relaxing just to sit around and talk. Peter and I cooked them an anniversary dinner consisting of steak, Baked Sweet Potatoes, Asparagus and Peach Cobbler! I was full.
The next morning, they cooked Peter and I a great breakfast! It's funny, I have never really known what it's like to enjoy spending time with my grandparents, sadly enough, but I had such a great time with Peter's grandparents. That will be something that I will stress when my parents become grandparents. I'm sure my mom and Peter's mom will want LOTS AND LOTS of time with our kids. So, I won't really have to worry about that AT ALL!!!

This past weekend was PACKED with an itinerary all about NATALIE AND JOSH! Friday night we went to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner! We had a great time hanging out with old friends and laughing our heads off. We went to bed after midnight. Saturday morning Cassy had COHEN!!!!! You can click on her link on the right to see the pics of him!! I was so excited to be an aunt again! Natasha came and picked me up and we went shopping for the lingerie shower that night. But, for most of the day we spent at an unbelievable house in Highland Park. One of Natalie's K-Life girl's hosted the lunch and pool party! It was SOOO NICE!!!! I didn't even get sunburned. It's been a long time since I have vegged at a pool. That night we ate at Chip's Hamburger's on Lovers Lane and then had Natalie's lingerie shower! It was a blast. Again, I didn't go to bed until after midnight. I tell you, I was feeling it too!!
Sunday morning I woke up, got ready and headed to the hospital to see Cassy and Cohen. It was a quick, but really sweet time!! After that, I headed to North Park to find a brown dress for the wedding. I had faith that I could find one in a few hours. :) I really only had an hour to look. Thank the good Lord I found one in time to be at the church at 1:30pm. Natalie had us slaving setting up the reception area! :) haha. The wedding started at 4:30 and after the wedding we hung out with friends...UNTIL AFTER MIDNIGHT! WHY did I do that to myself.

Monday morning...NO LABORING DAY!!!! Peter and I woke up at 10 and headed to "Ham and Eggs" for breakfast followed by a trip to the grocery and movie store. We rented movies and didn't plan on leaving the house the rest of the day. We stuck by our word and I barely got off the couch. IT WAS GLORIOUS!!!!

Anyways, so that's been my last couple of weeks. I will try to start taking pictures more since my battery is now charged. ;)

Thanks for bearing with me on this one...

???????!!!!!!!

I didn't know what to put in the title line, punctuation is what you get. I don't think I've ever typed "punctuation." Hmm...well that's twice now.

It seems as if the weeks have flown by and I have forgotten to update my blog.

Oddly enough, I've been VERY busy here at work! Praise the Lord! When I'm not busy, I get sucked in to the internet and then my eyes go crossed reading blogs.
Last week I was at a health fair for 3 days and then I got Friday afternoon off! So, just a busy little bee!!

Peter and I haven't really stopped going in the past couple of weeks, and won't really until mid-September. I have been a hostess of 3 baby/wedding showers this month and so, well, that takes up time on the weekend. This past weekend I had a shower on Friday night and one on Saturday morning. After that, Peter and I hit the road to Abilene. We felt like we needed some R&R and some good family time. Of course good family time means good food! Peter was also dying to see Charlie, his dog. Sunday morning we got up and road bikes for about an hour and half. I did'nt look near as cool as Peter did. See previous post. But, my mom did provide me with some biker pants with the built in cushion seat. So, I road my $150 10 year old Walmart mountain bike, and Peter road his bike. I won't mention how much his cost on here. We road a little over 10 miles. We road to ACU around the campus and then back to my parents. It felt good on Sunday, but yesterday, my rear bones were killing me.

Speaking of yesterday, I had the dreaded woman doctor visit. It's always much easier than I anticipate leading up to it. Either way, it sucks. I made Peter listen to me talk about it yesterday. He couldn't help but laugh at our misery! :) hahah.....
Either way, I like my doc...thank goodness.

What else...my mom came in town last Wednesday. We took a quick trip to the Southlake town center on my break and did some damage. Oh how I love when my mom comes into town. :) She SPOILS USSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Mom, thanks for all the cooking and the desserts this weekend..and for the extra 5 pounds gained. ;)

This weekend we are traveling to Houston to visit Peter's grandparents. I'm sure you remember them if you were at my wedding. They were the ones dancing. :)
It's their 60th wedding anniverary on Thursday. We aren't looking forward to the drive, but we are looking forward to some quality Gammur and Pop-Pop time.

Well, my blogging time is up. I promise for some pictures on my next post. Until then, I'll just keep myself occupied looking at Brittney's pictures of Quinn. :)

Peter........

This is what I came home to the other night. :)
Disclaimer: I have been given permission to post these on my blog. :)

Peter is getting a new bike for his birthday next month. He's actually getting it early....like this weekend! He is so excited. Problem was, he was buying this bike from his friend Jobe and he lives far away. They are meeting to "ride" and then he's driving back to Dallas. So, he needed to feel cool for Jobe and get the appropriate "riding" gear.

There's only a few that can be caught dead in Spandex. I guess Peter is one of them.

I might have mistaken this outfirt for a "wrestling uni."

Ridiculous...

The final product.

I told him he should have gotten something more flourescent to be a real biker. He said no, that wasn't very cool! I told him that he HAS to buy a reflector vest then. :)

I was tagged by Lauren C. and Angie B!!! I don't know know how to do links. I'm not as blogger savy as I look! :) hahaha

The Rules:

1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules. (**if you’re a non-blogger, you can email them!)
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

My eight random facts and/or habits:

1. I have several nicknames among my family members. It all started in the 7th grade when I was in Spanish. My spanish name is Mollita. From there, it's been several forms of Mollita. Right now it's Leelow. Don't ask. I really don't know how it came. My mom also has nicknames for all of our pets. I choose not to disclose those at this time. Along these sames lines, when I'm on the phone with my mom, I morph into a different person/voice. Peter always looks at me like I'm from the weirdest family on earth. He giggles. I have no explanation of this either.

2. I worked at a bakery in Abilene, Texas the summer after my senior year of college and while I was student teaching. Because of that, I never had any desire to eat sweets. This quickly changed when I quit working there. Because of this bakery job, I "donated" several cakes/cookies for many wedding/lingere showers. Thank you to this "no named bakery." I promise I didn't steal! I promise!!!

3. I have a birth mark in between my eyebrows that only shows up when I am crying. I have an identical one on my right butt cheek and right shoulder. People always ask me if's a hickie. Funny how one would give me a hickie on my right shoulder huh?

4. I get adjusted at the Chiropractor 3 times a week.

5. I had HUGE crush on my husband my junior and senior year of high school. I used to drive down his street at least twice a day. I realize this is stalkerish, but I have to admit it now because it makes of a great story. Don't you think? :)

6. I used to get made fun of in middle school for having the biggest chest. It was weird, seeing as I was the smallest girl out of all of my friends, without a boyfriend, and I hadn't hit "puberty" yet. TMI again. But, it seems hilarious now.

7. I rarely want to brush my teeth before I go to bed. I haven't really done this my whole life, but Peter insists. I always compromise and swish with mouthwash instead. :) It never fails, as soon as I get into bed, the first thing Peter asks me is if I've brushed my teeth!!! GEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!

8. It took me 5 times to pass my EXCET test to be certified to teach K-12 music. Each test cost 80 dollars and you had to make a 70 to pass. 4 of the 5 times I made a 69. Finally, I passed with a 73 on my 5th and final time. Funny how I'm not teaching anymore. Too my defense, this test was 250 questions long and the contents included band, choir and orchestra. Let's just say, I'm not to smart in the band/orchestra/music history area okay!!! I didn't study for any of the test and by the grace of God, I still passed with 73. Praise-a-lujah!

I tag, CHRISTINE, SHAREE, ED UGAN(Elizabeth), and Thompson!!!

Lakes, Wasps, and More

Peter and I went to the lake this weekend with some friends. I did'nt take any pictures. What was I thinking?
But, I did just take a picture of my finger. I got stung by a wasp for the first time this weekend at the lake. Right now, it looks like I have a case of the "Sausage Finger." It's actually gone down since this morning. I got a shot of antibiotic and I'm hoping it helps VERY soon.

Other than my swollen finger from the wasp bite, we had a fabulous weekend full of eating, sleeping, eating, skiing, eating, tubing, eating, laying out, eating, sea-dooing and more eating!!
The family that lives at the lake house does not mess around when it comes to food.

Yesterday morning, in a worship service, not at my own church, I had to sing "In My Daughter's Eyes" by Martina McBride. I said yes because I was getting paid. Is that bad? Nahhh.....I would have sung it for free I guess.

As far as the "staying away from the blog bit", well, I failed....miserably. I am going to try again this week. Except this time, I am going to limit myself 30 minutes in the morning and 30 in the afternoon. Quitting cold turkey was too hard.

Well, that's all I have for now.
Lauren, I'll post my 8 things this afternoon during blogging time. :)

FUNKytown

Yup, I've been in sort of a funk as of late.
I'm sure it's been brought on soley by my actions. I realize that I have a choice whether to act like a Debby Downer, or be a Chipper Charlotte.

Nothing much has been going on. I am still working. Most days are spent trying to avoid the computer at work, seeing as we have about 18 patients a week. When you calculate that we work 35 hours a week and each patient is here about 15 to 20 minutes, well, you do the math. I finished a book at work last week, and the new one I began reading Monday at the gym. I don't know about you, but I have trouble doing reading while doing the Elliptical machine. Although, the time passes by much quicker, I just can't do it.
So, basically, I could be sitting here at work, reading the word, journaling and praying. But, due to the fact that a computer is sitting inches from me, I have discipline issues. There is plenty of time to do so, yet, I choose to play Tetris or read people's blogs.
So, I am making a commitment here, right now, between all my blogger friends and the Lord to not even click on the internet for the rest of the day today, Thursday or Friday.
My joy has been robbed due to my own lack of disipline and obedience. I choose mindless reading over relishing in the Word or talking with God.
I choose the Internet over Jesus. How said is that? Lord, forgive me for not loving you enough and for ignoring you.
So, until then, you may not see or here from me through the blogging world until next week.
Bye.

Dogs, Heart Monitors, Babies, and Islands.....

We had a pretty happenin' weekend.

It started off on Friday when Peter and I cooked steak, asparagus, potatoes and homemade peach cobbler. (Yes Lindsey, I'm putting down what I ate AGAIN!) ahha.
After we were through with dinner we headed up to Brad and Brittney's apartment. They live in the same building as us and only one floor up. Brittney has been Sarah's roommate for the last 8 or 9 years and recently married Brad who also went to ACU and was in the music department with me. They were leaving on their honeymoon, 2 weeks late, so we decided to wish them off with some peach cobbler. Sarah, my sister was up there as well. We had a good time laughing and reminiscing. Sarah decided for us that we needed to haul my keyboard up to their apartment and have a sing-a-long. It was pretty refreshing to worship along side of them in the apartment on Friday night. It was pretty special.

Also, Friday, I started wearing my 30 day heart monitor. You can't really see it, thankfully. I'm not sure what's wrong with me, but I've been having these weird heart flutters. They came at the beginning of June and miraculously went away. And, well, they came back with avengeance. So, the cardiologist I was referred to sent me this 30 day thing. So, I have to be patient. The flutters don't bother me thankfully, but last week my chest was pretty tight and I couldn't breathe well. It may have had nothing to do with the flutters, but just in case they are doing this test. I've had it on since Friday night. Thankfully, you can take it off to shower. The adhesive strips are a killer. I have to replace them every 5 days. It's like pulling 3 really sticky band-aid's off!! Ugh.
Anyways, so just pray that it's nothing. I'm pretty sure it's hormonal and has something to do with my body adjusting to normal life off of BC.

Saturday morning, we got up early to head to Wichita Falls. On the way there, we stopped by Mallory and Jason's to pick up the island Peter built for his sister. In this picture you can see the cement counter tops. One of the tops has a piece of wood on it. He worked SO HARD on it. Andrea will paint it black after the primer drys. She was so excited!!!!! And, I think Peter was too....

While we were there, I got to snuggle Kai. You can see pics of him if you click on Mallory and Jason's link. Anyways we headed to Wichita Falls to see our new niece, Layla-Grayce. She is PRECIOUS!!! Right now she is a little under 6 pounds. So, little, and so amazing! I got to play with her sister Henslee the whole weekend. She really took a liking to me and wanted to be by my side the whole time. We played, and played and played. She found my eye shadow kit on Sunday and here is the outcome.

We also found out that my parents have been running a Vet clinic at their house this week. It all started with Belle.

Poor Belle went to the Vet last week to get her shots and such. While she was there, she was infected with a case of Kennel Cough. This is a terrible thing for dogs. Belle had a 104 degree fever and was coughing up stuff. My mom rushed her to the emergency vet clinic. She had to give her cough suppressant with codine and antibiotic. Poor Belle.
The very next morning Charlie caught the virus.

Because of this, my mom had to take 2 days off of work because my dad was out of town on a business trip. My mom was also trying to work on very large project for school at the same time. Eventually, Sally got it.

Thankfully, hers was not bad. She usually stays away from Belle and Charlie anyways. So, their saliva was pretty far away I guess. My mom had already started pumping her and Carly with antibiotics just in case.
Well, then Carly got sick. As you can see in this picture she has an IV attached to her foot. Well, just in case anyway. She apparently started having diarrhea that was bloody. TMI I realize. It was uncontrollable. She was also vomiting. So, my mom had to take her to the emergency room, followed by her doctor.

When I talked to my mom on the phone yesterday evening, she was hauling Carly home in her VW Beetle. Carly is NOT the smallest of Dachsund's you see. So, I could hear the horn honking and some other things. My mom needs a massage and a day at the spa. If you would like to help her cause just let me know. hahaah.........

She sent me these pics last night. The dogs have mostly been resting due to the amount of Codine in their systems. You can tell Charlie is drunk by her S.E.D (Saggy Eye Disease.) We laugh at this alot.

I hope things are better at the Carrigan Vet Clinic today.

I finished a really great book by Karen Kingsbury yesterday. It's about reconciliation. I cried most of the way through it. I'm off to buy another book today. I'm on a roll for some reason. Could it be that I'm bored at work? Yes. :) Hey, at least it's keeping me from spending HOURS blogging.

I'm an AUNT!!!!!!!!

It's offical. This is the first child in the family that has been born after Peter and I got married! I mean I do have 3 other niece's and nephews from the Abrigg's, but this one is really special!!!
Meet Layla-Grayce Hickman! I'll have to take credit for that name. Actually, I'm going to have to give Sunni credit. I went to a website on her page that had that name! Anyways Sunni, Ashlee says thanks!
Her sister Henslee is VERY proud! I cannot WAIT to go meet her on Saturday morning! I am just ITCHING to get there! :) Congrats Ashlee, Scott and Henslee! :)

4th of July and more...

Well, is it just me or did yesterday feel like Monday?
It was crazy! I seriously thought all day it was Monday. Hmm, seems I was mistaken.

We had a great 4th of July. Tuesday night Natasha and Thomas came over on Tuesday night. We got to hear all about their honeymoon to Hawaii. We sat out on the balcony and low and behold, FIREWORKS right in front of our eyes! We had the perfect seat! They were shooting the at the local park which happens to be down the street from our apartments. We then watched a movie, but I fell asleep. What else is new?
Wednesday we woke up and decided it would be cool to run to the local L.A. Fitness. Mistake on our parts as the mosquitos had a hay day on the back of my legs and arms. It was like they were following me! We worked out pretty hard. I made Peter run back and get the car to come get me afterwards. I did'nt need to get eaten again. Afterall, I had about 30 from the weekend and the run combined. I hate mosquitos, but they LOVVVVVE me. After that we made our condiments tray and headed over to our small group pool party and cookout. The weather was beautiful. I have a nice sunburn to prove it. My upper chest and upper back are a nice magenta color. We played hours of water volleyball and ate some glorious hamburgers and hotdogs! YUM!
After we were tired of the sun we headed over to Bahama Bucks while the guys played poker. I was BEAT. I was asleep by 9. I woke up with a horrible sunburn headache around midnight and it has still not gone away. It's Friday might I add.

Peter and I will just take it easy this weekend. I need to catch up on my housework. We do have a wedding to go to tomorrow, but other than that, I'm looking forward to getting our apartment deep cleaned.

The job front is going well. We were actually extremely busy yesterday oddly enough. It made for a fast day.

Well, I'm out for now. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

OH and SHOUT OUT to Lauren and Rebekah for joining the blog-o-sphere!!! WOOHOO!

Gateway Getaway

Meet Charlie

Well, Charlie is semi back into our lives and we are thrilled! Charlie is Peter's dog he had when he lived in a house. He had to give her to some of his friends who have 2 kids for the past year and half. But, due to unfortunate events, they were going to have to give her away. WE got first dibs. So, we thought about it LONG and hard. We had no choice but to take her, but we knew she would be miserable in our 750 square foot of fun. So, I called my parents. hahaha...and they said yes! So, Peter picked Charlie up and we drove to Abilene. It took us 4 miserable hours due to rain, traffice, construction and wrecks. But, we made it and now Charlie has 3 friends. Well, sort of friends. Here is Charlie and Belle, our black lab. There might be some of Sally, my parents German Short-Haired Pointer.

Charlie LOVES the water. Everytime she goes outside she gets in it, which results in my dad having to towel her off. See last pic.

Peter and Charlie. She LOVVVVVVVES Peter and remembers him immediately every time!

Belle and Charlie. This took some work.

Getting dried off and being pestered by Belle.

When we get a home soon, she will come back to Dallas and be with her Daddy.

One Year Older

Really?
It's crazy to me that I am 27 and it just came and went like the flip of a light switch! Unbelievable.
Yesterday was good. I went to work. The usual. Ate lunch with Peter at 7 Salsas.
Then I went to get my allergy shot, which ended up being 2 shots. Apparently I can't handle all of it in one arm. Last week, my arm was swollen. Gross. Then I went shopping at the Southlake Town Center. Found nothing. Back to work I went. Worked in the pouring down rain for the rest of the day. I then met Peter, my dad, Sarah and Daniel at The Cheesecake Factory for dinner. YUM. I had strawberry shortcake for dessert. It was amazing. They all sang to me. Quite humiliating. Then, we went home and went to bed. I guess birthday's aren't near as fun once you get older. ;)

We decided to buy a grill for my birthday. I was going to get a new pair of jeans, but I decided we needed a grill more. Sunday night we had steak, sweet potatoes and asparagus. YUM. Monday night we grilled hamburgers. YUM. So, tonight it's chicken, corn on the cob and salad. I was trying to eat healthy and then my birthday crept up. :) I guess that means I have to do extra cardio today at lunch.

Speaking of working, I have found a new passion. It's been fun. I work out during my 3 hour break. Good ole LA Fitness is treating me well. :) It's not your Lifetime or anything, but it's good for me, for now.

Anyways, I'm out of things to say.
Have a great HUMP Day.
