Charlie...and Meg.

All about Charlie.

Charlie is quickly settling in to her new home after being away at my parents house for the last year. She LOVED being at my parents house because she had 3 other dogs to play with. Well, 2 really. Carly, our dachshund doesn't play. She sits, eats and sleeps....and barks at the other dogs.

Here is Charlie at the lake with Peter a few weekends ago.

Here is Charlie laying with her new friend Sadie a few weeks ago as well. She LOVES other dogs. It was so cute watching them play.

Here is Charlie asleep underneath our kitchen table at dinner the other night. She had her head laid on my mother-in-law's feet. It was hilarious. Charlie HAS to be wherever we are. Since Vivian is home most of the day, she has quickly become her new best friend. :) (Please ignore our un-stained kitchen table that we got for $50 at an estate sale.) Peter said he would tackle that this weekend. :)

And here is me attempting to take her picture this morning. She was being SO cute. She woke me up 8 minutes before my alarm...which really makes me angry. :) She got on the bed, which she really isn't allowed to do and started licking my armpits. WHAT? She has an obsession with armpits and lotion. LICKER! And then she started licking my face. Apparently, Peter was in the kitchen. She didn't want to get up when he did, so an hour later when he was eating breakfast, it was time for her to get up.

Maybe if you click on the picture, you can see all of the dog hair that has collected on my rug. It is so nasty. Pretty soon I will have to throw it away. I've resorted to a lint brush. Thanks Macy.

Speaking of Macy...

Macy, her daughter Meg, and I went to Which Wich for lunch the other day. It was beautiful outside. Meg was the star of our party. Here's a few hilarious pictures of her.

I sure hope my child has as much personality as Meg.

We're settling in quite nicely in our new home. Things have yet to appear on the walls. Why is it so hard to bang a hole in a new wall???? It's so depressing! :)

Here's some fabulous fabrics I bought yesterday to cover some big canvas to line my stairs. Our entryway and stairs have a 20ft ceiling. It needs some decoration big time. I show the final product when it's finished.

First, here is a pic of the fabric I chose for our upstairs bathroom shower curtain. It's chandelier's and I LOVE IT!!!!!! It's pretty bold, but well, you know me. I'm bold. :) It goes perfect with the towels I already have.

Here's the first panel of the 3 that stair step up the wall.

Here's the second one. This small piece does not do it justice. It really blends the first and the 3rd. I know you're probably thinking I'm crazy by now. :) well good.

Here is the 3rd. I LOVE this fabric. It's a deeper yellow almost gold color. I'm so excited to hang these up!!!!

Of course there were SEVERAL other things I wanted to buy...but the cash budget called and told me to put my money back in it's envelope. :) a.k.a....Peter Eugene. :) He keeps me in line.

Last weekend we had a slumber party over at Natalie and Josh Drew's. There were 4 couples. It was the most fun I'd had in a while. The next day, we all came over to our house after picking Miriam up from the airport for her 5 hour layover. Do you know what we did for 5 hours??? We played Monopoly. MAN do people get crazy during Monopoly. I especially enjoyed Natasha's negotiating skills and Peter's game face. People become liars during Monopoly. I wish I had taken pics. Miriam and Natalie, you'd better send me your pics. :) It was a great day. Sunday we went driving around looking at houses with his parents and then went to a cookout. I held a 6 week old baby the whole time and was in HEAVEN. After that we headed to church. We came home to another home cooked meal. I'm going to get fat with Peter's parents living with us. :)

This week has been a bit of a bummer. I won't go into details for fear of blog stalkers. :) But, it's on the uphill..it's Thursday and I LOVE the weekend.

There's my update for the week.

I promise I'll post some pics of the house when I get some stuff hung up. :)

Wednesday.

Maybe I will get around to posting pics of the house...semi finished.

I'd like to wait until we get stuff hung on the walls before posting. But, right now I'm too busy sweeping up white dog hair. :)
I love that dog. I really do. She has the best personality.....but, the hair is AWFUL! I told Peter I would do every chore in the house for the rest of our lives if he'd keep the dog hair swept up. He said that was up for negotiation. ;)

I've decided I need a sabbatical from blogging at work. It's taken over my free time and I am mad at it.
So, we're breaking up. I have no discipline.

I don't really know how long it will be...so, I'm apologizing now. So, signing off until the next time......whenever that may be.....

Until then, pray for some discipline and for some sweet time with the Lord....while the computer is right in front of my face. Argh.

Bye.

some wedding pics....

Left to Right - my mom's younger sister Leslie, my cousin Jenny, her mom Joy (mom's older sister), mom and me. Pardon my white legs. I wish you could have seen my shoes at the Bridal Breakfast. They were so stinking awesome red patton leater pumps!Sister Sarah and I before the wedding. She was pretty chill because she had already seen Daniel. I on the otherhand was just about to sing while the parents walked down. For the first time in my life, my microphone wouldn't work. I sang two verses and then the 3rd it finally came on. So, I repeated the 3rd just to appease my mom. :) I was flustered and started splotching. If you know me...you know I splotch.
Sarah's photographer making her look silly. :) Her dress looked like clouds on the bottom! It was so angelic!
Peter and I posing before the wedding.
Some of the bridesmaids and I riding on the red BMW van on the way to the reception.

And, well, I have no other pics. I was trying to be a good Matron of Honor and be at my sister's beck and call. So, my camera got the back seat on Saturday night. I'm hoping I get more pics very soon!
I didn't even get a pic of Sarah and Daniel! Geez. I'm ridiculous.
It was a packed weekend. On Sunday, about 25 of Peter's family members came over to our house for brunch and an Easter Egg Hunt. I was basically a zombie most of the time. That day was a blur. Then my sister-in-law and her two little girls along with my other 2 nephews are staying with us until Wednesday for Nana Camp. I don't think my house will ever be the same. I'm kidding. It's been fun. I came home at lunch to find the kitchen table turned into a tent. They were eating hot dogs on a blanket. It was hilarious.
Today is such a boring day at work. We hardly have any patients and on top of that, it's been pouring down rain all day. Makes of a sleepy day of you ask me.
Hope this tides you over until next time.
Bye.

In A Fog...

I thought the title of this post was appropriate seeing that I could barely see the car in front of me on the way to work this morning. The fog was crazy!! It's sort of lifted now.

Well....we're making it. I'll just hit some highlights.

Thursday: got to come home at noon because of the ice and snow. Picked up Chick-Fi-La on the way home. Peter was home too!! Ate my Chick-Fi-La and was excited to make some head way on packing up our room. 30 minutes after eating...I started feeling bad. Great. Just what I needed. Needless to say, I spent from about 2pm-8pm hanging out with the toilet...and I had a 101 degree fever. I was one sick little girl. Everything was out of my system by 8ish and I was about to be in a very drunken Phenegran stupor for the next 24 hours. I finally fell asleep around 9 and literally slept until 6:30pm on Friday. I think I might have overdosed on the nausea medicine. ;)

Friday - 6:30pm. Peter and his mom woke me up and drug me out of bed to start packing up my room. OH heavens. I don't remember much....but I remember falling asleep on a double bed mattress in our new bedroom on the floor.....still hadn't eat anything at this point.

Saturday morning - you can imagine my energy level at this point. Thankfully, Peter's mom locked me in the bedroom so she could finish waxing our floors. I took my time getting up (3 hours) and unpacking my clothes. It was nice. We moved until about 3pm. Not so bad!
I finally ate a turkey and cheese sandwich from subway. SCARFED it down. Got some energy to start unpacking my kitchen.
Went to bed at 9ish. I don't remember because we had to move the clocks.

Sunday morning - 6:45am (it's still dark???) Confused. Take a shower and get ready. Peter and I head to Abilene with the trailer. Get to Abilene around 11am. Relax a bit before the girls come over for the shower. Get ready for the shower. The rest is a blur....I think I stayed in the kitchen and washed dishes the whole time. I was very nonsocial. Very unlike me I tell ya. There were even TONS of babies there! I couldn't muster up the energy to even hold a baby! Man I'm sad!
After the shower was over....my mom, dad, Peter and I spent the next few hours loading the trailer and putting the tarp on. Of course it would rain on the way back to Dallas. Finally got back to Dallas around 9:30pm. Got home to see Larry and Vivian in 2 brand spanking new white rocking chairs from Cracker Barrel on our front porch with bows on them!!!!! I was so stinking excited! We then unloaded the trailer.....and went straight to bed. I forgot about CHARLIE. We brought her back too! :)

Monday - woke up...got ready, went to work. Worked my TAIL off because I was out on Friday. My desk was a tornado. A doctor covered for me. haaa.. :) At lunch, went to the bank, went to get my top altered for my sister's wedding and then to Subway. Took it home and then unpacked more until 2:30pm. Back to work. The rest of the day is a blur. Except for the fact that I came home to a home cooked meal thanks to Vivian! :) I did do the dishes after that...but it was actually fun!!

So there. My wrists are tired. This week will be a week of getting the house settled and prepping for Sarah's wedding. You probably won't here from me until next week. Don't be mad. :(

Things...

We had an extremely busy weekend. I realize it's Thursday and I'm just telling about it So, I'll expound on the whole weekend and week. Sorry.

Friday evening we had dinner with some of Peter's Tech football buddies and their wives at Mi Cocina. We were there for 4 hours. :) We had a good time laughing about marriage and such...We got home after midnight and were exhausted!!!

Saturday morning Peter was gone by 6:30am and I did'nt see him until 9pm Saturday evening. My mom was in town for another one of my sister's showers. The day was crammed full of business! Thanks to mom, I got some new placemats that were on sale at Anthropologie and a kitchen towel. Not to mention a letter "A." I love the sale section there. :) I also bought some bathroom cabinet pulls! I'm so excited about them I can hardly stand it! They were on sale from $10 a pull to $2.95. Peter still says this is bad because he can get them for $1.50. But, I don't want mushroom style pulls so we're out of luck. :)

Saturday evening we dined at Cafe' Express. After that Peter and I headed home. I couldn't see through my windows because I got my car washed on Friday. I know you're confused right about now. It seems as if they wiped the inside of my windows with the same rag they armoroled the dashboard. I did not ask for armorol. :) I wiped it all off as soon as I got in the car with my zebra workout towel. (Which I haven't used in a few months.) Apparently I have taken a working out hiatus! Discipline..WHERE ARE YOU!!!?!??? Anyways, we watched LOST on Natasha's big screen MAC and then hit the sac!!!

Sunday morning we slept in.....ate oatmeal and then showered. We decided it was 'Peter and Molly FUN DAY.' It was beautiful outside! SO.....we went to the Fort Worth Zoo. We had a good time laughing at the Ape's and oooing and awing over the lions, tigers and bears. The bears seemed drunk. They were both belly up in the sun with their mouths opened. I didn't take any pictures...sorry.

Sunday evening we cooked Chicken and Rice and watched The Oscars with Natasha and Thomas. I slept through part of it. Thankfully I heard the song from "Once" live. Natasha bought the CD the next day and so it's been playing in the house NON-STOP. I love it!! I love them.

Monday - work. Busy day....

Tuesday - work. Not so busy day. I got to leave at 5:50pm! I thought I would jump up and down with excitement. I drove over to Southlake and purchased a gift for my sister and then headed to the grocery and movie store. I had cereal for dinner and Peter had grilled cheese. :) We then watched Becoming Jane. I fell asleep and Peter studied.

Wednesday - worked. As usual. I cooked dinner for Peter and then we watched "Gone, Baby Gone." Such a twisted movie I tell ya. I was tired after watching it.

Thursday - here we are. My car hit 100, 000 miles today. Here's a picture to prove it. I thought I'd take a picture of 99,999 and then 100,000. Wow. She's been a good car.

If you notice...I was going 33-34mph this morning while taking this picture.

I then slowed to 18ish.

HOUSE UPDATES -

Our mailbox is now in. :)

The yard and the fence was put in yesterday!!! AND, the landscape! I don't have a pic of the fence. I wanted to wait until they finished staining it.

The island has been antiqued and glazed by Linde Browning Designs. :) Doesn't it look amazing! We still have some touching up to do on the floors. :)

We also have electricity!!! I had such a good time going over to the house yesterday at lunch and turning every single light on and making sure they worked. Our under cabinet lights are a bit messed up. Unfortunately they're going to have to take a few of the cabinets off and put them back on to fix it! That's okay. I just don't want to be there. Besides, they already have to repaint SEVERAL of them.
Speaking of paint. I began blue taping the walls for the walk through with the painting big boss. There are so many places that need to be touched. I will breath easy when it's finished.

So, hopefully the gas will come today and we can have a final inspection by the city tomorrow. If they say anything is wrong, we have a week to fix it. I think we can handle that.

It will be a rough 3 weeks for us but we're just going to take one day at a time.
I'm hosting my sister's lingerie shower this weekend with a few other of my blogging friends. It should be fun! I'll post a few pics next week if I have time! :) Until then....off to brainstorm.
Oh yea...here's another picture of my dining room. It needs to be swept and mopped. But, I can't wait to have you over for dinner.

THE END.

Driveway and Carpet!

It was such a nice feeling to walk around with no shoes in our bedroom! It really felt like an almost finished house!!!!!!
Driveway.....The city has to come back and do their part so we can actually drive up on our our driveway. We had a whirlwind of at time with them with the sidewalk and driveway. We HAD to have a sidewalk, according to them. And, we had to move our curb up more even though the edge of the street is further away. So, they promised they would come and fill in the REST of the street before we moved in. HMM.....otherwise our driveway/curb will look dorky.
So.....we're 28 years old and wanted to carve our initials in the concrete!!!! haahah. We had a nice date at Thai Chili in Southlake on Tuesday night and then headed back over in the dark so Peter could create his masterpiece.
And...here it is. :)
The trim carpenters and glass/mirror people came yesterday. The trim carpenters still have to frame our mirrors. But, the master bath is almost finished!! The painters are there today and tomorrow. I'm hoping they finish touching up by the weekend. Afterall, they have ALOT to do. :)
I'm so excited I can hardly even stand it!!! Peter and I will have to finish the edges of the stain concrete over the weekend. Then, finally today the cleaning crew will make their appearance. I'm sure it will look like a brand new house by the end of the day! WHOOPPEE!!! Grass gets laid on Monday along with the fence. Well, the fence gets put up not laid. :) We're hoping and praying for our electric meter to get here before the weekend. Then a final inspection will happen and we will be good to go. We are PRAYING that we get to move in next weekend. I have a shower out of town the weekend of the 9th and then my sister gets married the weekend of the 15th!! No rest for the weary I tell ya! :)
Anyways, that's all I have today.
It's freezing in my office. So, my fingertips might fall off after I am finished with this blog.
ThE END.

More House/Sunday night DINNER!

Hello Blogosphere and Happy President's Day.
While most of you have the day off, I'm sitting here at work, blogging. hahahah.

Peter and I had a crazy busy weekend. It all started Friday evening with an engagement party for our friends Linde and Jeff. I had to keep it a secret for a whole week! That's not hard, but seeing as I talked to her about 3 times during the week, it was kinda hard. Linde is antiquing and glazing my green island a week from today and I CAN'T WAIT. Anyways, it was a good time with friends, amazing food and wine.
We hit the sack early on Friday evening, or Peter did anyways. I had some HORRIBLE stomach issues that I don't know where they came from. Needless to say, I finally fell asleep around 1:30 to have to wake up at 6:30. Peter woke me up gently...he's good at that. :) My parents can vouch for my crankiness when I didn't want to wake up back in middle school and high school.
Peter was off to Celebrate Recovery and I hit Home Depot at 7am. I came out of there with all of the stuff we would need to clean and finish staining the floors. It was sight I tell ya. Peter, my dad and I worked our TAILS off from 7 in the morning until about 5pm that evening!
Saturday evening we headed to my sister's Couple's Shower out in Denton. I got to see Cassy and some friends I hadn't seen in a long time.
We hit the hay early again just due to exhaustion. Sunday morning we woke up early and headed to our favorite breakfast burrito place, Guadalajara Taquiera. I'm not sure if I spelled that right. We drug my dad, Sarah and Daniel along for the ride. After that Peter and I went to Walmart. While we were there, a power outage happened. It was kinda crazy as they were telling eveyone to head to the front of the store and check out. Yes, their register's were working. I went AGAIN later that afternoon to do some real grocery shopping.
Here's some pics of our newly stained concrete and some other updated pics of the house.
I'll also post a picture of the gourmet dinner I made last night first!!!Pork Chops with Blueberry sauce from, "Cuisine at Home."Natasha's roses from Valentine's Day. :) Here is my masterpiece. IT WAS SOO GOOD.I know you want to see a close-up. YUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMM!

Peter wanted me to mention that his hair isn't usually that poofy. He'd been working HARD!

I was scared the blueberries were going to stain Natasha's pretty white plates. Luckily they didn't because I finished ALL OF MY FOOD. After that picture, I ate the last asparagus. And yes, my urine smelled like Asparagus. :)
A close-up of our stained concrete. Another pic of the FRESH stained concrete in the kitchen. As you can see, the painters will have to touch up ALOT more than they already had to because we splatter painted the walls and the bottoms of the cabinets with the stain. WHOOPS. :)A pic of the blacksplash. I LOVE it. Please ignore the dust on the island. It is NEVER ending. Luckily, they are doing a rough clean this afternoon. Praise THE LORD!Another view of the kitchen. Again, please ignore the dust! :)

A view of the family room. I don't think I've showed you the built in entertainment center (without shelves yet), and the fire place. The mantle is not stained or put up yet. Too bad the people who put in the stone have to knock some of it out this week. They covered up our gas fire place nob. Nice work. Well there you go!!! Carpet goes in tomorrow and the driveway and sidewalk goes in today! Hopefully. :) Peter is there 'monitoring' as he says today so it will all get done! ;) We're looking at the weekend of the 1st as our move in weekend. HOPEFULLYYYYYYY. :)

Valyentime's Day

That's what I used to call it.....I don't know why.

In honor of Valentine's Day, I thought I'd introduce you to some of my favorite sweets.

Duh.....here's Peter holding our new niece back in July. Irresistible I tell ya.
My friend Mindy reminded me how much I love Nothing Bundt Cakes. Yes, what a creative name I tell ya. They only sell Bundt cakes here...small and large. And, they have a wide assortment of cake stands. (Tiffany, if you're reading this, you should go.)
They are located in the Southlake Town Center on the Carroll side if you're interested. They have ALL kinds of flavors. I had the cinnamon swirl and it was magnificent! If you're looking to lose a few, don't go. :)

I LOOOOOOVE Hot Tamales. Love them with all of my heart. Well not all of my heart. Geez.

Next up......

JD's Chippery's COOKIES
I couldn't seem to find a website or a picture on the WWW of this amazing cookie factory! That's what I call it. It seems that every time I go they are always right out of the oven!!!! This place is located in Snider Plaza off of Hillcrest in Highland Park. You have to try it!!

SOUR PATCH KIDS! YUM. These have an always will be one of my favortie candy's. I used to get these when I would go to the movies. Now, I know how much they actually charge you when you buy food at the movie theatre. So, I stopped, regretfully.

These little gems look gross here on my blog, but let me tell you, I used to work at this very well known bakery in Abilene, Texas the summer before my last semester of college. I had a great time. And, much to my surprise, I was never hungry for sweets while working there. Hmm...but that all changed when I quit and got a real teaching job. There are many more things there that I love, but the Lemon Bars and the THUMB PRING COOKIES!!! UGHGHGHGHGHG! No words to describe them. If you live in Abilene, then you KNOW about the thumb prints! :)

I brought a package of these to work last month. They were wrapped in pink and were gone in a matter of days. :) WHOOPS.

I guess that's all that I will make you salivate with today....
Happy Valentine's Day!
Peter and I had a nice dinner and some wine at our favorite Italian resturant in Lewisville, Parma last night. He had a prior commitment this evening, and I wasn't going to make him miss.
A funny thing I was reminded about today.
S.A.D - Single's Awareness Day! Sadly, I probably used this term several times in my day, although now that I'm married I realize how not-so-important Valentine's Day really is.
But, I love it for the novelty sake anyways. I got flowers! :)

Molly's Favorite Things

These are a few of my favorite things.......(Sung to the Tune of the Sound of Music "Favorite Things." You know you're singing it right now. :)

Because I'm sleepy and trying my hardest not to be bored to death, I thought I'd post some of my favorite things. I'm copying Leigh Ann. I loved her post.

Ladies and Gentleman, meet my sister...Sister Schubert. You can find these at your local grocery store in the frozen food section. Sister makes some killer cinnamon rolls, pigs in a blanket, and even really great wheat rolls too!!! Thanks Mom for introducing me to Sister Schubert.

ANAMIA'S!!!

This Mexican food restaurant has the best tableside guacamole, tortilla soup, and brisket tacos! :) I frequent the one in Southlake and Coppell. Thank you Jesus for Anamia's. Yes, this is an actual picture of their food.

Baby Bliss. I know this is really random and I know I don't have kids yet. BUT, this is the cutest baby boutique in Dallas. I've enjoyed buying gifts for my friends here for a few years now. They just expanded their Snider Plaza store to 2500 square feet! Holy cow!! :) So, I'm pumped to go over there and see them. They also just opened a store in the Southlake Town Square. It's so fun just go to in there and look....babies or no babies! :) Don't judge me.

Anthroplogie. I can't really ever afford these clothes, unless my mom comes into town. :) And to be honest, I haven't had the best luck with their clothes either. They are WAY expensive and don't last very long. I've had a skirt that faded completely to white after taking it to cleaner's. A sweater that the buttons melted TWICE at the cleaners...regardless...I LOVE this store and could spend hours in there just smelling around. :) It's smells glorious in there with all the candles!!!
My iphone. Yes, judge me now. Right now. I know you are...I can see your eyes rolling back in your head as we speak. If it makes you feel any better, I didn't pay for a dime of it. It was a present. A present bought with the use of an at&t gift card and a Christmas bonus at work. I had the same pink Sprint cell phone for 4 years and it finally went dead. So, my dad gave me his old razor after I switched over to At&t. Well, it went dead. So, I had a free phone that was TERRIBLE and I hated it. But, I was going to hold out and now buy a phone. Well....what else are you going to do with At&T gift cards from your parents besides get an iphone or a blackberry. Lord knows I don't need a black berry and it was more expensive in the end!! I still pay the same amount I did before with free internet. I only have 200 text messages a month though. So, don't text message me. Kidding. Peter loves it now because it's like our own GPS navigation system when we go garage/estate selling! :)

Duh. PETER EUGENE. His initials are P.E.A. You know where this is going.....yes I used to call him Sweet PEA, but now I resort to Babe or Peter. :) Not that he's still not sweet..becuase he IS! He should be at the top of my list. I hope my babies have his hair/smile/eyes/running skills. Yesterday he went running on a track near our new house. Or shall I say 'sprinting.' He came home and said, "I think I'm still fast." What am I supposed to do with that? I just laughed and said good job babe. We'll still call you White Lightning.

I'm obsessed with SHARPIE's. The smell, the colors, the boldness, the way it bleeds through the paper! Oh the joy.

Do you know who these three people are? I know some people think they are terrible. But, I like to laugh in the mornings. Although, I should be praying my way to work. I hate my job. THe end. Kidd Kraddick, Big Al, and Kellie Raspberry do make me giggle. J.C. too, but he's not pictured. It takes me 30 minutes to get to work. I sure am ready to move close.

I guess that's enough for today. Maybe I'll have a more substantial post next time.

By the way, spell check isn't working. So, you writers out there...leave me alone. :)

Just some outside progress....

They weren't finished with the trim due to the HIGH WINDS from last week. I'll take an updated pic after they lay the concrete and do the landscape this week. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! :)
The front door will match the stained cedar on the posts and the garage.
You can see the difference in the colors now up top. :) We are very happy with them.
Peter is in love with our garage door. Not as much as he loves me of course. :)

Had a good weekend. HARD but good. Sang 6 services, got little to no sleep and hung out with some fun friends.
As of today, in 2 weeks everything should be IN the house and ready to go. But, we have to wait on TXU to bring our electrical box or something.
The paint colors are AMAZING. I am so unbelievably pleased with our choices. NOT TO MENTION, we only made 2 trips to the paint store picking out colors. Only 1 of them was a bummer color. I'd say that's a record if you ask me! :)
Anyways, I don't have much to say today.....
Hope everyone has a great Monday. I'm tired and it's only 10:38am!
