NEW YORK AT CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Well, we're back, safely. We celebrated our first anniversary this past weekend in NYC. Our anniversary isn't until December 15th, but we had to celebrate early. Friday morning we headed to the airport around 5:45 to catch our 7am flight to Houston. Everything was going well until we boarded the plane. It seemed as if it was foggy in Houston. GREAT. So, we sat at our gate for an hour and half before we were given the go ahead to fly. Unfortunately I was a basket case the whole flight, because I knew we were going to miss our connecting flight which was to leave at 9:09am. We landed in Houston at 9:15. So, fortunately, there was a girl next to us who was headed to NYC as well. She had been calling her mom looking for other options. She let us know that there was a 10:45am flight leaving that we could catch standby. SOOO, we basically RAN (I'm not sure why because it was only 9:30ish). It was on the opposite end of the airport, of course. SOOO, thankfully, they had actually put us on that flight! Peter had Chicken Express and I had Subway at 10 in the morning. Hilarious. We landed in NYC around 3 something and headed to our hotel! It turned out to be a great little hotel in Chelsea! Perfect for us! Here is a pic of us unpacking and getting ready for the nights events. We got in our warm clothes and walked 30 blocks down 5th Avenue and stopped at the Europa Cafe for dinner. We had some great flat bread sanwiches with turkey, cheese, pickles and hot mustard! We were energized and ready for the next adventure. We ended up in Rockefeller Center for THIS AMAZING SITE......... We waited in line for an hour to go ice skating and it was well worth the 25 dollars a piece to do so! Afterall, there was no time limit!!! Here's a few pics and a video.
After ice skating we walked around Rockefeller Center into some stores and then walked on into Times Square. That place still amazes me. There were people EVERYWHERE!!! We passed by this.... I bought a hat, which you will see in the next pics. After Times Square, we headed home. We were beat after a day of travelling and lots of walking!!!

Saturday morning we slept in and went downstairs for our free breakfast. It was important that we eat quickly because we had to be on Canal Street IMMEDIATELY! I prepared Peter on the subway ride of how quickly this will all happen. I instructed him to follow close behind and not to be scared.
THIS picture below shows you the damage that was done in less than an hour or so. :)

We even headed back down to Chinatown again once more on Sunday. :)
After our shopping spree we rested in at the hotel for about an hour and then met our friend Luke for lunch. I regretfully forgot to take a picture of us. He took us to a fabulous Thai restuarant! I was FULLLL.
After lunch we decided to go wait in line for Broadway tickets. But, much to our dismay, the line was well over a mile long. We debriefed and decided we'd try again on Sunday morning for the 2 o'clock showing. Sooooo, we headed through Times Square and shopped around. We then headed to the all familiar H&M and decided to hop down 5th avenue for some more shopping. At around 5 we went to a HUGE Catholic mass. There were SO MANY people there, and I must say it was very interesting. We then hit FAO Scwartz, Trump Tower, the Nike Store, Anthropologie, and a few others. By this time, it was time for dinner. Luke introduced us to a fabulous hole in the wall Italian food restaurant. It was glorious!!! We then hit up Bryant Park for this outdoor Shopping and Ice Skating. We just walked around to the different Christmas booths and decided to take a picture under the tree.

We headed home for a much needed sleep.
Sunday, we meant to wake up early and go get tickets for the Broadway show, but realized we'd be late to Luke's church if we did. So, we again, opted out of standing in line. We Walked out of our hotel to see that it was SNOWING! It was so pretty!!! We loved worshipping in NYC with Luke. I Secretly wanted to get up there and join the choir singing "O Come O Come Emmanuel," but I refrained. We talked with Luke for a long time and then headed for some pizza for lunch. We also hit up Bloomingdale's and a walk around Central Park. Here's some pics. IT was beautiful!

Sunday evening we celebrated our anniversary in Little Italy at a great restaurant. I can't believe I didn't have someone take our picture! I might have had to much wine or something. Or, I probably just forgot!!! It rained on us on the way there and on the way back. We left our umbrella in our hotel room. We laughed it off!!!
We had a great dinner. Unfortunately, all that rich food didn't sit well with my stomach, so I was up until around 3am. I was fine when I got up the next morning.

Monday, our last day, we decided there were a few things we needed to do! So, we headed to Bleecker Street for some AMAZING cupcakes at the Magnolia Bakery. I'm retarded and didn't take pics. We then found a local dinner in Greenich Village for breakfast at 12. :) We walked around and then hopped on the subway and headed downtown to Wall Street and The World Trade Center. I'm sure you've all seen too many pics, so I won't post any.
We had to be back at our hotel at 3, so we booked it back and got in our Lincoln car off to La Guardia.
We had an interesting travel experience on the way home. We get to the Continental counter to realize that ALL flights were delayed and that we would miss our connecting flight. Long story short, we ended up at the American counter for a non-stop flight at 8pm. Or so we though. After being strip searched and my bag testing positive for some chemicals, 45 minutes later we were at our gate. After waiting a few hours, we find out that our flight was delayed 45 minutes. Then another hour! We ended up leaving New York around 10ish to arrive at DFW after midnight. We finally climbed in bed after 1am exhausted and mad that we had to go back to work!!!

Overall, it was a a wonderful trip.
Thanks for sticking with this post!!

WHEW!

I love it how all of my blog titles start with W's.

I don't have time to post today. I'm extremely busy. (Hence why I'm blogging. Aheem.)

We flew in at 1 am this morning. THAT is another story. Hopefully I will have time to blog about our trip! But to tide you over, here is what I drove up to this morning!!
I was VERY overwhelmed. I told Peter that our house looks to big. He assured me that it was because it was next to really old little homes. Our lot is VERY small, therefore our home looks VERY large on the lot. It scared me. haah.

So, here is a pic. I'm exhausted.

Saggy Eyed Charlie. She was SOOO sleepy after her Thankgiving lunch.

My car being snowed on. I don't know why I took her picture. :)

Mom's side of the family...

Family again.....

Belle and Charlie LOVIN' the snow!!

This little Boston Terrier is named Luke. He was rescued by Peter's aunt and uncle. He is also deaf. And, the best part about Luke is, he ALWAYS wants to be as close as possible to someone. I think he feels safest when he is. He has 2 sister Boston Terriers, but they are crazy. :) Anyways, Luke and I laid under the blanket ALOT together. Brittney, this pic is for you! :)

House Progress/Traveling/Moving/Thanksgiving!!!!

Well, progress is slowly happening. We were supposed to pour the slab today, but apparently concrete companies close for the Thanksgiving holiday's as well. :) They deserve it to!
So, Monday the slab is being poured, Lord willing we get a GREEN on the inspection. Then on Tuesday, the lumber is coming!! That means our slab of a house will look somewhat like a house!

As we speak, I'm waiting on Peter to pick me up at work and take us to Abilene! We have whirlwind of the next few days with travelling, and then we move on Sunday-Thursday. NYC isn't really on the mind quite yet! I won't even realize we are going until we actually get there! SOOO BUSSY! I'm starting to feel the stress of it all I tell ya!

But, I am so very thankful for all that is going in our lives. None of it is ours.
I hope everyone has a wonderful time with family these next couple of days!

Things Part II

I don't have much to say today. So I'll just make a random list for you.

1. Cinnamon candles remind me of Christmas. I was sent to buy a few candles for the office and I couldn't resist.

2. I did a spin class at the gym by my apartment on Saturday morning and it was 100 times harder than the one over here by work. My legs were like jello. Hopefully I can leave early for lunch today and go to the class again. You're basically forced to do cardio for an hour and I love that!

3. Plumbing is going in today at the house. Woohoo! I drove by this morning and the plumber truck was there. I didn't take any pictures. I thought that would be awkward at 8 in the morning.

4. Thanksgiving is one week away.

5. NEW YORK is only 2 and half weeks away. I started our itinerary. :) It made me even more excited. If anyone knows of a nice romantic place to eat dinner....sent a message my way.

6. We move in with friends in a week and half. Holy cow.

7. Waking up at 5:45am on Wednesday mornings is hard but good.

8. Are granite counter tops really that cool? I can't seem to find one that I like. They are all WAYYYY to busy for me. I guess that's probably a good thing that I don't like them huh. :)

9. I made a the queso recipe off of Pioneer Woman's blog.
http://www.thepioneerwomancooks.com/
Again, I still don't know how to post links. I think my blog is ghetto.
It was AMAZING! You should try it. :) I like her blog because she posts these emmaculate pictures of the food! :) CHECK IT OUT!

10. I think I want to be a CSI agent when I grow up. But, I think I only would want to work in the lab.

11. I bought map pencils at Target yesterday. I of course had to buy the huge pack with all of the colors. Peter told me too. :) They were for him anyways. Either way, I think the last time I used them was in World Geograhy and A&P (Mr. Jonas)in high school. I spent most of my junior year coloring with map pencils. It was fantastic.

12. We went furniture shopping a few weekends ago. I couldn't find anything I liked. This could be a problem in the next few months. Hand-me-down's anyone?

13. I had to sing a Joy Williams song at a church on Sunday morning. It was a very hard song. I nailed it the first service and butchered it the second. I practiced really hard. Practice makes perfect? What? The Lord humbled me. It was great.

14. I can't believe I will no longer be in apartment life. Can I get a Hallelujah!!!!! Did I spell that right?

15. I made cookies for my small group this past Sunday. I made a homeade batch of Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies and then I bought some slice and bake peanut butter cookies and stuck a hershey's kiss on top. Most of the girls asked me for the recipe for the slice and bake. Hilarious.

16. I am addicted to Non-Fat Gingerbread Latte's with Whip Cream. Is there something wrong with that sentence? :)

17. Friday night Peter and I walked down by the Las Colinas canal. I peeked in Kidd Kraddick in the Morning's studio and I pictured myself on the radio. Hilarious.

18. I bought a pair of ASICS running shoes this weekend. I'm excited to try them out today. They were a steal I tell ya!

19. I ate sushi twice last week. Now when I say sushi, I mean California Rolls and that's it. I've found that if you put the Ginger root on top of the sushi it's fantastical. Is that a word? I don't care if it's not.

20. I'm sorry that you just wasted your time reading this. ;)

Things

I'm not really sure what you call this stage of the house building process. I'll have to ask my contractor....Peter that is.
Apparently that beautiful tree in the back left has to be removed. THat makes me SOOO STINKING SAD! It's too close to the foundation. It would be okay in the beginning, but would later cause major foundation issues. Best to be safe rather than sorry later. Peter said they did even more today. I'm the picture taker and am behind. Whoops.

I went to a spin class today...for the first time at my gym. The only other time I've been to a spin class was in New Orleans on spring break. I was staying with my friend Audrey and we headed to the local gym. Both of us about died.
Today I was on a bike next to my new Columbian friend Isabel. She does it every Wednesday so I knew she'd be a pro. Oddly enough, I finished all 60 minutes with a bang! I felt so good! I was drenched though. More sweat equals more toxins released!!
Speaking of sweating, Peter ran 10.5 miles this weekend. Why you say? I have NO IDEA! Last weekend he just started running and he ended up running 9. So, this week after applying band aids to his nipples, he decided to see if he could do more! Don't you all HATE HIM! So, I told him he has 3 more miles to go and he could run a half marathon! So, we're signing him up for the White Rock in December.
SILLY.
Silly boy.

On a more serious note...
I've been just a mess lately with my job. I truly despise sitting here 7 hours a day. It might be the most boring thing that I have ever done. The daylight savings did me in! Now, I get to watch it get dark at night. Then, I have to actually "work in the dark for an hour and half before driving 30 minutes home. Speaking of driving, it now takes me 45 minutes to get to work. Some geniuses decided to make business 121 (my shortcut) one lane last week. I almost started crying. Thankfully, it only takes 25 to 30 on a normal basis.
So, after my complaining bits....I've decided I'm just going to have to let the Lord change my heart. Novel thinking right! Geez...I've been trying to change my attitude and it's just not working. I'm just very discontent and sad all the time. It's been one of things where I want life to be in the next stage. Obviously, that's not what the Lord wants for me. I have a choice to appreicate and enjoy this job or be a debbie downer everyday.
It's a struggle every single morning when I wake up.
So, there is my confession. I'm tired of crying about it.

It's 5:15...and it's starting to get dark. Let me brace myself...

Until next time....

This girl is on my heart today.
You can read about her story from the link above. You'll have to copy and paste because my link button isn't working for some reason.
I believe she went to Hardin Simmons...and is my age.
I don't know her..but I've been following her story since she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Worthington....

Well, here's the lot! I'll tell you that our street's name is Worthington. But, for the sake of the stalkers, that's all the information you will receive. :)

It may look like nothing has been done to the lot, but there has!! There used to be this big mound of something and there used to be 2 trees right smack dab in the middle of the lot. If you look closely, there's a tractor on the lot!! WOOHOO!!!!!

We're waiting on our permit and then will will break ground and build that bad boy!!!!! YESSSSS!!!!!

We move out of our apartment at the end of November...it happens to fall right when we go on our anniversary trip! GEEZZ....
The cool thing...we get to move in with Natasha and Thomas. I hope their new neighbors don't think we are swingers or something. Sorry for the inappropriateness

We had a VERY busy weekend. Unfortunately, the pics I took, can't be posted on the blog.
Friday night, my mom came into town. Peter and I met her at our apartment after work and we headed to the Southlake Town Center. Boy do I love that place. I returned a sweater that she bought me from Anthropologie back in August that has ruined 2 different times (2 different sweaters) at the cleaners. I took the first one back in exchange for another one, and then it also ruined at the cleaners. They gave me my money back, but you know me, I had to exchange for something else....an amazing orange corduroy dress! I can't wait to wear it!!!!!
Then we headed to Truluck's for dinner. I had never been there. It seemed to be the only place that didn't have a wait. We should have known why..the food was expensive! But, mom wanted nice, so we ate nice dadgumit! It did not dissapoint! I had some amazing salmon with this peach salsa and asparagus. I finished off the evening with some pumpkin and cinnamon gelato from Picomolo!! You HAVE to eat the pumpkin ice cream. It might be the most amazing thing I have put in my mouth this month! hahaah! :)
Then on Saturday morning, we headed to Mockingbird bridal to look at wedding dresses for my sister. We found one! No, I'm not stupid enough to post pictures of it on my blog. My sister thought I might! DUH! Then we headed over to North Park! Oh how I love North Park! We browsed around and then got hungry enough to eat some PF Chang's! YUM!!! After we left North Park, we had to take my mom to Sprinkle's cupcakes. I ate a vanilla milk chocolate one this time. It sent me over the edge! I felt sick the REST OF THE DAY! It was to much rich food in a 24 hour period!
Peter and I headed to Wichita Falls around 4ish to attend Henslee's 3rd birthday party. It was a Halloween party! All of the little babies were SO CUTE! I of course got no Henslee time. She was busy. So, I had to get my Layla Grace time in. She was asleep in my arms the whole time keeping me warm!!
Anyways, we got back to Dallas about midnight. A WHIRLWIND of a trip let me tell you!
Sunday, we slept until around 10:30am. It was glorious.
I decided to start practicing my Susie Homeaker skills that day. I made Taco Soup for our small group leaders. Then I made a batch of Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies. Then I decided I should probably make Peter a late lunch. I decided to make King Ranch Chicken for the first time. We had it for an early dinner on Sunday afternoon and then dinner last night. Apparently I ate to much because I woke up sick around midnight. It finally subsided after an hour and I went back to sleep. I hate it when that happens!!!

So, there was our weekend. Everyone take a deep breath now!

I am looking forward to Halloween night with some old, sweet friends! Apparently, I'm in charge of carving the pumpkin this time.

Happy Halloween everyone!!!

Homecoming, etc.

I realize it's Thursdsay and I'm just now posting about our weekend. Oh well! We got back fairly late on Sunday night and I was just to busy on Monday to post pictures.
Then I forgot.
We had a great weekend with family and friends! It never ceases to amaze me how much things "slow down" when I get to Abilene. EVEN if I'm busy the whole weekend. Macy even said she drives slower. hahaa. I don't.
Cassy, Chad and Cohen stayed at our house. It was Cohen's first out of town trip at a month and half old. He's so precious. Of course I never got to hold him because my MOM had him the whole time! I think she's ready for babies. Then there is Macy and Chad's baby, Meg. She is precious as well! She is so vocal!!!! It cracks me up. I had a little to much of her spit up on me throughout the weekend though. :) Peter lost his appetite after Mav caught Meg's vomit. It was great! So great.

I enjoyed waking up at 5:30 am to attend the Kojie breakfast! It was fun getting ready with Cassy in the morning. It was like old times in our house! :)Then we headed to the parade! I was highly disappointed in Ko Jo Kai's float! POOR! Oh well. Do I really still have that competitive spirit when it comes to social clubs? No.

Then Saturday afternoon my mom made lunch and then I took a 3 hour nap while the boys watched football. It was glorious. Then we headed to our 5 year reunion dinner. If you didn't go to ACU, you're probably wondering why in the world we celebrate 5 years? Beats me! We ate at the Beehive in downtown Abilene. IT WAS TERRIBLE! THERE WAS NO DESSERT!!!!! Can you believe that? We paid 20 dollars a plate to have no dessert. So, what did we do? We headed to the local Chili's on the "Southside" to get dessert! Good times!

Sunday, we awoke to the smell fo pancakes and bacon! Glorious!!! Then we headed over to Peter's parents for pot roast! YUM. Again that afternoon, I took a 2 and half hour nap! What's wrong with me?!! I love naps in Abilene.
My mom was confused as to why I wasn't begging her to take me shopping. She thanks Peter for my change. hahaah!!!

This week has gone by slow/fast. I keep forgetting to go by the lot and take pictures!! It was raining on Monday and I haven't had time since. Maybe this weekend Peter and I will head over there. Although, we have another weekend of traveling for our niece's 3rd birthday party! Whew!!!!

Right now I'm listening to Sarah Brightman singing "O Mio Babbino Caro"(don't ask, it was the doctor's choice), drinking a non-fat Chai Tea Latte, and typing. Yes, I am at work. Not really working yet. It takes me a bit to get into the swing of things.
Lately I have been in a slump. Every morning I have to ask the Lord to give me the courage and strength to glorify Him at work. I don't like my job. It's boring and I'm basically considered "the front office girl." Not the highest calling I have for my life. It's frustrating, because this might be the EASIEST job I have ever had with pretty good pay. But, it's hard to be bored. To be honest, I think I'd rather be bored at home. I'm sure most people would kill to have a job like mine where you don't have to do much. Then I have to check my pride. Man, I'm so prideful. Why do I care that I'm called the "Front office girl." I think I deserve something better and I don't. Then I step outside of myself and realize it's not about me. Boy, learning a hard lesson here.

Anyways, sorry about the rant.
The Lord knows what he's doing. I desire to serve Him, WHATEVER that looks like. If that's being a "front office girl" or a janitor, I'm there.

Here are some pics from our weekend.

THE WOMEN OF KO JO KAI. I think my jacket would have been cute if I was standing up! Peter wasn't excited about the mustard yellow. :) I loved it!

Meg and I. I love her.

MEG and her MOMMA Macy. Aren't they precious!

Peter and his child Charlie....isn't she precious.

The reunion dinner.............

Susie Homeaker!!!!!!!!!

Today is a very special day!
A day I should probably remember for a long time!

Today, October 18, 2007, we will close on a home loan. That's right, you heard it, PETER is BUILDING US A HOUSE!!!!!!!

I'm nervous, excited, scared and impatient. :)

I have lived in an apartment since 2001. That's a long time. Never in my life have I been so excited to be Susie Homeaker. I mean, don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed every minute of our 750 square foot of fun!!!

Peter has been working, working, working, to get everything settled, the plans drawn and sent to the architect, etc. They look amazing. He's amazing. Basically, I will sit back and watch him do what he's always dreamed of doing. It's so exciting.

And, today, we will sign our life away. I'm sure I will sign my name at least 20 times, if not more. Then, I will leave scared to death. ;) hahaah....

Tomorrow, I will post a picture of our beautiful, treed, lot!!

When it's all said and done! Hopefully be the end of February/beginning of March, you'll all be invited over for a party! :)

Please pray for protection over Peter and I. Pray that everything we do will honor the Lord. After all, this house is His house. I pray that His will is done in the whole process.

Giving up....

Well, day one went fairly well.
Peter and I both had LOTS of energy and weren't really that hungry.

Last night, we drank the "Smooth Moove" chocolate flavored tea. It was terrible.
WE went to bed.

I woke up at 4:30 this morning with CRAZY stomach cramps like I had never had before. I had them for about 2 and half hours before I actually went to the bathroom. After that, I got back in bed. I woke up 45 minutes later feeling absolutely terrible. I felt as if I had just had the stomach flu.
I got in the shower, and minutes after applying my shampoo, I must have blacked out.
I opened my eyes to find myself sitting in the shower floor. I don't really remember sitting down, so I must have blacked out. I could barely hold my hair up.

I got out and called Peter, while laying on the floor trying to recouperate.
He said he dry heaved a few times this morning and had been to the bathroom 3 times and that he felt just like I did.

According to the Dr. that I work for, he says everyone is different. He said he thinks my toxins were coming out quicker than normal and that some people throw up for 3 days solid.

THIS IS NOT what I signed up for.

In the midst of tears, we quit.
I then mustered up the energy to eat 2 waffles and a wheat English muffin. CARBS ANYONE?
I didn't care.

It's 10 oclock right now, and I still feel terrible. It took EVERYTHING I had to make it work. Thankfully, I don't have to get out of my chair and that I have a 3 hour break.

Our friends who just finished didn't have ANY of the symptoms we experienced this morning.

I'm thankful, because we already made plans to go to the state fair this weekend. Can we say torture? The state fair is about EATING!!!! DUH!

So, I'm sorry I failed. It just wasn't worth it.

Good bye lemonade and "smooth moove" tea. I will never drink you again!

CLEANSE!

Peter and I started a 10 day cleanse today.

So far, I'm doing well.

Here's the menu for 10 days.

Breakfast:
4 cups of luke warm water
2 teaspoons of uniodized salt.
DRINK FAST or your gag reflex will kick in.
(I only was successful with 3 and a half cups. Peter, being the competitor that he is, chugged it all and then his gag reflex kicked in. I laughed alot.)

DURING THE DAY
You can drink up to 6 servings of this.

10 oz water
2 Tablespoons organic fresh squeezed lemon juice.
2 Tablespoons Grade B Organic Maple Syrup.
Cayenne Pepper to taste
(I fixed mine last night and put to much Cayenne in it. Hilarious.)

DINNER:
Herbal Tea with Natural Laxative and Cinnaleaf.
Aheem....

10 days people!!!
CHEER ME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The toilet and I are going to be great friends this week.
Too much information I realize.

Yesterday, to celebrate our fast, we ate pizza and dunuts.
